Build it yourself.
It's easier
than you think.
A box arrives with every piece cut and numbered. You follow the guide, step by step. In about three days in the workshop you have your hollow wooden board.

Six steps. No freehand shaping.
The rocker table sets the curve and the pieces set the shape. You fit, glue and sand. If you have ever built furniture from instructions, you can do this.
Prepare the skins
Join the Paulownia strips into two panels: bottom and deck. They come cut to size.
Set up the rocker table
Two bars with crossbars at the heights given in the guide. That table gives your board its curve.
Dry-fit the skeleton
Ribs and stringer slot together dry, no glue. Every piece is coded. If it all sits flat on the table, you are on track.
Glue bottom and blocks
Skeleton to the bottom, tail and nose blocks, then the rails. Epoxy and patience: every bond cures in its time.
Close the deck and shape
Glue the top skin and sand the rails with the gauges until the shape appears.
Glass it and paddle out
Cloth, epoxy, fin and leash plugs. Final sanding and your board is ready.
All cut. All numbered.

Let's build together.
More and more people want a wooden board and don't have the time or the workshop to make it. You bring the craft; we bring the kit and the people asking for it. Orders from your area reach the network, and together we put more wooden boards in the water.
The board that suits you best.

How long does it take?
About three days of work, spread around the epoxy curing times. The guide includes a stage-by-stage calendar.
What tools do I need?
Basic workshop tools: clamps, a sander, a small block plane and glassing supplies. The guide includes the full list.
What if I get stuck?
Write to us and we answer. The guide is designed so every step makes sense on its own.
Who builds my board if I buy it built?
A shaper or builder from the WOODKIT network, with the same kit and the same method. They give you price and timing when your turn is assigned.
