Paul Rice is a Charleston-based surfer and the builder behind Terrapin Surfboards. With 17 years in the water and a background in construction, he built his first hollow wooden surfboard from poplar during the COVID lockdown. Its weight led him to search for a better material—and ultimately to Paulownia, iWood Solutions and WOODKIT.PRO.
Paul has since built more than 12 wooden surfboards, including nine WOODKIT.PRO builds. He now brings that hands-on experience into guided workshops for people who want to build confidently and experience the difference of riding a board made with their own hands.
